We can shoot in the studio…
I work in different parts of the UK, so rather than having my own permanent space I hire studio time as and when required. It saves me money, which in turn means I don’t have to pass extra expenses onto my clients for uneccessary studio rental.
I have built up great relationships with a number of photo studios that I regularly work from, most notably in North Wales, Chester & Yorkshire, plus I have my own portable set-up.
So, rather than being a traditional portrait photographer who is tied to a specific location I’m incredibly flexible and am capable of making the most challenging studio space yield amazing results.
Or take it on location
As much as I love working in the studio where the light is infinitely controllable, there is something exhilerating about battling with the unknown when shooting on location.
In my time I’ve raced against the clock in the wind, rain, fog, snow & ice. I’ve fought off aggressive three-legged dogs and deflected the amourous advances of a country gentleman toward the model I was working with. I’ve also had to explain to a passing elderly lady my artistic intentions when she caught me staring at a lamppost with seemingly psychotic interest!
The stories I could tell… they’re what make location shots come alive so often. Come on – let’s go see what’s out there!
